The 9th Luxury Travel Mart a stellar success

The international exhibition Luxury Travel Mart, rightly considered to be one of the most prestigious professional events in the luxury tourism sector in Russia, took place in Moscow on March 14, 2013. As in previous years, the event was hosted by the The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow. This year the organizers selected a convenient date for the event, to avoid clashes with the famous Berlin exhibition ITB and MITT in Moscow.

Luxury Travel Mart not only reconfirmed its reputation as the most successful forum in the luxury tourism segment in Russia and the CIS, but yet again broke its previous records. This year, 206 exhibitors from across the world, representing the global luxury tourism industry, presented their services at LTM 2013.

On the eve of LTM Moscow 2013, exhibition participants from the companies Oetker Collection & Ars-Vitae hosted a dinner for 100 people for companies from the Russian regions and the CIS, in the gourmet restaurant Most.

Luxury Travel Mart has deservedly earned a reputation as the most effective business event in the luxury tourism segment in Russia among international hotel groups and companies. At the event’s morning session alone, 206 participants and 312 guests were able to hold over 3500 pre-arranged meetings, while the evening reception was attended by over 700 guests.

As part of the LTM Hosted Buyer programme, the exhibition was attended by 129 guests from the Russian regions and from the CIS. The LTM Hosted Buyer programme is the only one of its kind on the Russian exhibition market, and includes a range of benefits for regional guests, including free accommodation for 2 nights, partial reimbursement of their travel to Moscow and back, and so on. The event was attended by guests from Kyiv, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Riga, Samara, Togliatti, Minsk, Kazan, Almaty, Novosibirsk, Baku, Kirovograd, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Kaliningrad, Uralsk, Tallinn, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Kharkov, Ufa, Tyumen, Rostov-on-Don, Vladivostok and Perm.

The guests at Luxury Travel Mart 2013 had a pleasant surprise as the main prize in the traditional draw for exhibition participants was a voucher for 7 nights in the new luxury resort hotel Cheval Blanc Maldives for two, including a private plane from Male to Noona Atoll and complimentary spa procedures. The draw also included more than 30 wonderful prizes from Le Bristol, Paris, Marriott Sanya, Borgo Egnazia, D-Hotel Maris, Maas Travel, St. Regis New York and Russian Service Bureau, The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul, Atrium Hotels, Greece, Eleganzia Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Costa Smeralda, Elounda SA, Villa Magna, Exclusive Travel, Breidenacher Hof, Elite Rent-a-Car and others, including 11 prizes provided by the host agency Fenix (packets for a week’s stay in the best hotels in Greece).

Given the significant increase in demand for participation in Luxury Travel Mart, an autumn session of LTM will be held in Moscow on October 3, 2013. Also in 2013 there will be an exhibition in Kyiv on September 24 and in Almaty on September 27. The spring session of LTM Moscow is planned for March 13, 2014.

The general sponsor of Luxury Travel Mart was the hotel company Cheval Blanc, which offers luxury services that meet the requirements of the most exacting travellers.

The partner country this year was Macao, which became visa-free for Russian tourists from January 1 this year.

As in previous years, the exhibition’s media partners were Travel Trade Gazette (TTG Russia and ttg luxury), and the magazines Robb Report and Yachts.

Luxury Travel Mart has earned a reputation as one of the most talked-about and successful events in the luxury travel segment. Every year it offers tourism professionals from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Russian regions, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and the Baltic states a unique opportunity to meet with representatives from the luxury travel industry, find out about major events in the hotel business, new hosting companies, and services and to establish successful new partnerships and strengthen old ones. This B2B event is aimed at companies that provide elite tourism services who would like to make new contacts and strengthen ties with Russian partners – tourist companies working with VIP clients.
