THE LEADING LUXURY TRAVEL EXHIBITION
South Korea's participation in LTM 2020 MoscowSouth Korea will be represented at LTM spring exhibition in Moscow by an impressive delegation of 22 participants: 13 clinics representing multidisciplinary and specialized medical care, as well as DMC and hotels.
Korean medicine is unique - it combines advanced technology and age-long traditions that create a balance in working with each patient. Tourists enjoy the highest level of comfort that is the basis of the healing process in South Korea: the wards in the clinics are like hotel rooms, and the service is thought out to the smallest detail. Russian-speaking coordinators help patients to communicate with the medical staff, organize leisure activities, book services, and make appointments with doctors. Many clinics are part of the Tax-Free system.
The high quality of service made South Korea one of the leaders in international medical tourism and the favorite destination for Russians. According to Korea Tourism Organization, in 2018 the number of medical tourists from Russia increase by 9.4% - 27,185 people applied for the services of the Korean specialists. For 2019 the data will be known later, but the figure is approaching 30,000.
“Russian medical tourism trips make up almost 10% of the total number of tours to Korea, and this flow is increasing every year. The growing demand for medical services among foreign citizens is one of the incentives for improving Korean medicine. Clinics are interested in increasing the number of patients from other countries, especially from Russia, and we, as the national tourist office, are interested in increased tourist flow. Therefore, participation of the leading representatives of Korean clinics in LTM is very important and timely for the development of medical tourism in Korea,” - Ekaterina Lopukhina, marketing director of Korea Tourism Organization.
According to preliminary statistics, 342,987 Russians visited Korea in 2019 (an increase of 13.4% compared to 2018).
Korea Tourism Organization within the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea is aimed at attracting foreign tourists to the Republic of Korea.
