The year 2019 marked the 20th anniversary of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The past two decades have been a period of the fastest development of this small city in Southern China, which had been a Portuguese colony for almost five centuries. The main result of this short historic period is the creation of a unique cultural enclave in Asia, built on the basis of centuries-old harmonious coexistence of two different cultures - Chinese and Portuguese.
Today's Macau is not only the largest tourist center in Asia, attracting more than 30 million tourists annually and famous for its entertainment industry, but also a unique and original city in which the breath of history and traditions can be felt at every corner.
The anniversary year of the Macau SAR was full of bright events dedicated to this date. In particular, the Art Macao festival opened in May and lasted until the end of the year. Within its framework there were dozens of exhibitions, concerts and festivals, which added attractiveness to this city, including for Russian tourists.
